Humility & Surrender

This is the spiritual state of being that is necessary for an individual to begin & complete our program successfully. A.W. Tozer is quoted as saying, “The reason why many are still troubled, still seeking, still making little forward progress is that they haven’t yet come to the end of themselves; we’re still trying to give orders and interfering with God’s work within us.”

There may be only a few things more humbling than the wreckage left behind when substance abuse, toxic relationships, and criminal behavior have ruled the day. It is this destructive mentality of taking no prisoners that, in reality, has imprisoned the individual. And by God’s grace, bringing many to the end of themselves, where it is in those shackles that they find the only recourse is surrendering to God’s purpose for their life.

We currently have 30+ individuals in our residential program who now desire to walk in the freedom that comes from living a life rooted in Christ. Men and women who are starting to build back what was once destroyed with their families, pursuing goals that once seemed impossible, healing wounds that have been open for far too long, and pursuing careers that give them passion.

At the same time, we are doing all these things in community with one another. Our residents desire and need the fellowship of the saints sharing in faith, love, service, breaking of bread, and prayer together. So, now it is no longer pain or addiction ruling the day but…Joy & Peace.

One of the newfound gifts our program participants begin to experience from abiding and trusting in Him.
