Who We Are

OUR MISSION STATEMENT: Liberty Ministries exists to serve offenders in prison and ex-offenders in the community by showing God's love, providing practical assistance, and supporting Biblical standards of justice.

History

Liberty Ministries was established in 1980 to serve the prison communities of Montgomery County Correctional Facility and the State Correctional Institution at Graterford. Since its inception, Liberty Ministries has positively impacted thousands of men and women with the teaching of God's word, spiritual, physical and emotional support, and the life changing power of Jesus Christ.

Residential Aftercare

Liberty House is a Christ-centered prison aftercare facility located in Schwenksville, Pa. which houses up to 16 residents at a time.
Dormitory setting and some single rooms for Phase I and apartments for Phase II residents.
Kitchen, Laundry, Library, Living Room, Meeting Rooms
Computers for resident use
Full-time Resident Assistants

Phase I
An intensive twelve month discipleship program
Biblically centered education

Phase II
Offers a man the opportunity to reside in an on-site apartment for up to 18 additional months

In-Prison Ministry

Utilizes the gifts and talents of more than a hundred volunteers who visit men and women in prison on a weekly basis, teaching and training and preparing men and women for life after prison.

Examples of some of our ongoing programs:

   Weekly Bible studies at SCI-Graterford
   Daily Bible studies at MCCF
   One to one Christian counseling
   Pre-Release Classes
   Sunday Worship Services
   Lydia Bag Program for the woman of MCCF
   Annual Christmas Stocking Project for the inmates incarcerated at Montgomery County Correctional Facility

Thrift Stores

Provide the majority of our financial support for Prison Aftercare and Prison Ministry.
Job skills training and employment for the men at Liberty House.
Considered a "Green" business because it is environmentally friendly by recycling clothing, furniture, equipment, etc.
