Liberty Ministries Open House

The weather was cool and very wet, but the atmosphere at Liberty Ministries was warm and sunny for our Annual Community Open House. In spite of the conditions, more than 220 people converged on 565 Main Street in Schwenksville for a day filled with fellowship, fun for the children, lots of food and opportunities to volunteer and to learn more about what Liberty Ministries is doing in the prisons and the community. Over 125 people toured our Prison Aftercare Facility.
A number of great prizes were awarded to those whose registration cards were drawn, including an airplane ride for two from Lincoln Park Aviation, gift cards for dinner at the Franconia Heritage Restaurant, 2 free pizzas from Moccia’s, lunch at the Energy Station, a haircut and Clubman gift pack from John’s Old School / New Skool Barber Shop, a nice bag of cosmetics and free consultation from Grace Braun of Mary Kay Cosmetics, a $25.00 gift certificate from Wal-Mart and three $50.00 gift certificates from Liberty Thrift and Home Furnishings. Our sincere thanks goes out to those who, so kindly, donated the gifts. We are just as thankful to Hatfield Meats and Doug Kogel of Piedmontese for supplying the meat free of charge. We would also like to express our deep gratitude to North Point Community Church and their Youth Group for donating all of the tents and helping to set them up.
Following the event Obadiah, a Christian blues band, graciously donated their time and talent in a free concert performed at New Eden Fellowship. Obadiah’s passion for bringing Jesus to the prison community was evident. They often enter Pennsylvania prisons and jails playing their hearts out for the inmates. Each song that was played for us had significant spiritual application and was performed under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. There was no showmanship, just a sincere desire to honor Jesus. Thank you, Obadiah, for bringing your gift to us.
The greatest news that can be reported about the event has been saved for last. We are excited to announce that two people at Liberty Ministries’ Community Open House made the decision to accept Jesus into their hearts as Lord and Savior. Praise the Lord!
